Concert Choir at William Paterson University

The Concert Choir, under the direction of Lauren Fowler-Calisto and coached by Warren Helms, encourages all students and faculty from the entire university with an interest in singing to participate. The 90–voice choir performs a broad range of repertoire, participating in many Department of Music events, including Winter and Spring Concerts and Collage every other year, featuring collaboration with the internationally recognized Jazz Orchestra, Pop Vocal Ensembles, and Wind Ensemble. The ensemble has also performed Orff’s Carmina Burana at Carnegie Hall. In addition to performing SATB music, the choir occasionally sings Men’s and Women’s Chorus repertoire as well, showcasing their versatility in many different genres of choral music. The Concert Choir achieves high artistic singing, but the rehearsal demands are minimal, fitting comfortably into a vigorous academic schedule.

No previous experience is needed, and no formal audition is required for participation in this choir. All you need to bring is your voice, your ears, your brain, and your passion for singing. The Concert Choir’s performance with the WP Jazz Orchestra on the 2017 Collage concert can be found here.
